Dan Ames is the Principal Engineer and Owner of HydroMap LLC. He began his consulting practice in 2002 as "HydroMap Consulting" in Utah, providing specialized GIS and engineering services. In 2026, the business was formalized as HydroMap LLC to expand its software and service capabilities.

In addition to leading HydroMap, Dan is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Brigham Young University.
